If you’ve haven’t done Divine Nature #3 yet then please join with me for the 2 week challenge!
The challenge is for two weeks do all you can to strengthen your relationships in your family. Make notes about the details of each time you did these things during the 2 weeks. Review what you have done each night and plan out things you can do the next day. Try to do each thing multiple times.
List of things to do in the 2 weeks:
- I didn’t criticize
- I gave a meaningful compliment
- I wrote a note of encouragement
- I expressed gratitude
- I spoke kindly rather than unkindly
- I looked for good qualities in others
- I found a way to be helpful
- I did a secret act of service
- I apologized
- I prayed, specifically for a family member
- I was patient and understanding
- I expressed love in word or action
- I surprised someone with something nice
- I noticed when someone needed love
Open your personal progress book and get started! 🙂
Do you have a New Years resolution to work on personal progress more? Maybe you just want to work on it, but it hasn’t seemed very fun. This will help you out!
For Christmas my Young Women leaders gave all the girls a Peace in Christ Personal Progress Journal by the RedHeadedHostess. This has become one of my favorite Christmas gifts! I’ve been doing personal progress off and on but there’s been big breaks in between and I’ve just needed more help and encouragement to do it. This book makes it really nice and easy because it helps you along the way. It helps you get most of the personal progress experiences done in a little over a year. It can be used for Personal Progress, normal journal writing, and for a spiritual journal. Every Sunday there is a new experience for you to complete. I love how it doesn’t overwhelm you with the personal progress experiences. Depending on the experience (like if you have to practice something for 3 weeks) it will wait till the amount of time you have to work on the personal progress experience till it introduces a new one to do. I highly recommend this tool to help you with personal progress. So if you’re struggling and need some help this is a good tool!
I’m very thankful for tools to help out in our progression in life. I’m grateful for a tool we have, Personal Progress that helps us become more like Christ, and how it has and will bless me now throughout my life.

I made a video showing me doing this value in a really cool Personal Progress doodle book that you can see here
Did you know that you can keep track of your YW personal progress on LDS.org? It’s really fun and simple! Check out the video I made for you below…
One of my first – and possibly my favorite – Personal Progress experiences was Faith #1: Learn about faith and then EXERCISE it by starting a pattern of saying both morning and evening prayers for three weeks.
It was definitely hard, especially on late nights and early mornings. But as I became consistent and more sincere in my prayers, I realized that having enough faith to pray can bring some great blessings. We can receive answers to our questions, find comfort, and feel the presence and love of Heavenly Father. This experience was so helpful to me in growing my faith in the power of prayer.
Let me know if you have done this value yet and share with us what you learned from it in the comments below.
I have been working on this value of faith and it teaches you a lot about the Plan of Salvation. So far I love it! I have learned so much. Here is the steps to do #6.
First you have to read a few scriptures…
- 1 Corinthians 15:22
- Revelation 12:7-9
- 2 Nephi 9:1-28; 11:4-7
- D & C 76:50-113; 93:33-34
- Abraham 3:24-27
2. DRAW OR OBTAIN
Next you can color pic of the Plan of Salvation based from the scriptures.
Then you have to share it with your class, your family, or a friend. – Discuss how knowledge of the plan affects your actions, helps you understand your identity, & has strengthened your faith.
THAT’S IT! Currently I am on the study part.
Let me know in the comments if you have already completed this one and share your testimony or share with us if you are working on #6 of faith as well. 🙂
Almost a month and a half ago, I had the most amazing opportunity to receive my patriarchal blessing from my grandpa. It was a very special experience, and I could tell that the Lord was speaking to me. I felt His love and His Spirit strongly.
I encourage you to prepare yourself to receive your blessing, if you haven’t already. When you receive your blessing you will feel it between you and the Lord. Don’t feel pressured to get it just because everybody else is. No matter when you decide to receive it, I promise that it is one of the best things that will ever happen to you.
